Position summary:The Vulnerable Populations Reinsertion Specialist works in close partnership with the Prosperous and Resilient Landscapes Chief of Party (COP) to implement a strategy to support returned immigrants to be incorporated into sustainable landscapes production value chains, by identifying key opportunities in field, and setting up an opportunities database to identify best matches.

You will coordinate with field staff and agribusiness specialists identifying companies requiring technical or field workers to support their operations. Additionally, will identify investment opportunities for returned migrants, among strategic implementing regions to promote a local investment strategy to ensure a well-rooted economy.

Other key activities within this position include setting up linkages with national and international organizations to identify additional cooperation opportunities, to support returned immigrants to identify meaningful and fulfilling job opportunities among sustainable production withing intervention regions.

Responsibilities

:

  • Coordinate update sessions with Rainforest Alliance regional managers, as well as key partners in intervention regions to identify key opportunities.
  • Identify economic reinsertion opportunities for returned immigrants.
  • Generate a database to categorize local companies and work opportunities for returned immigrants.
  • Promote the investment opportunities portfolio among returned immigrants possible investors.
  • Identify key capacities among returned immigrants for economic reinsertion.
  • Generate linkages between companies and returned immigrants to achieve economic reinsertion.
  • Support report generation to update donor.
  • Support other activities upon supervisor request.

Qualifications: 

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, Natural Resource Management, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Familiarized with landscape sustainability metrics and local stakeholder engagement techniques to set up multi sectoral and interdisciplinary working groups towards landscape sustainability.
  • Demonstrated experience in natural resources, and social analysis and reporting with international organizations, project´s design and monitoring.
  • Strong computers skills (MS Office Suite, analysis software); Ability to support development and maintenance of a PMP data management system, including providing training, materials/tools, and ongoing guidance to project data providers.
  • Excellent written, oral and graphical communication skills in Spanish, English should be necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills and ability to work with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 40% of the time at nationally regions.
