Day Centre Manager

Salary: £37,000 - £42,000 per annum, dependent on experience/qualifications

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Contract: Permanent

Location: Sutton (this is not a remote role)

Commissioned by Sutton Council, Age UK Sutton will be managing a Day Centre delivering flexible support to adults with dementia alongside delivery of the Sutton Dementia Hub, offering compassionate support throughout every stage of the dementia journey.

The role of the Day Centre is to provide pratical and engaging person-centred support to develop and maintain independence for clients and to enable clients to participate in stimulating activities of their choice.

We are recruiting for a Day Centre Manager who will be expected to support with the setting up of the service and develop the centre to enhance the daily provision for our Day Centre clients and provide respite for family carers. The Day Centre Manager will manage a team of experienced staff to run the service.

The Day Centre is due to open on January 5th 2026 – Age UK Sutton are aiming to fill this position to coincide with its opening, or before to assist with opening plans.

Age UK Sutton are looking for an experienced and person-centered individual who:

  • Has experience of offering a person-centred service, which could be working with older people, people with dementia or in a similar setting with transferable skills;
  • Has experience of developing a project or service adapted to the needs of clients and requirements of contract specification;
  • Can recruit, train, lead and manage a team of staff;

  • Is able to organise, prioritise and plan under their own initiative;

  • Is friendly, open and can positively engage with a range of people and work collaboratively.
