St Joseph’s School is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Peripatetic Guitar Teacher to join our team of visiting music specialists. We are proud to offer our pupils, aged 4 - 16, a wide range of high-quality music tuition, and this role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the school’s strong musical provision, under the guidance of the Director of Music.

The successful candidate will be self-employed and responsible for billing parents directly for lessons. Teaching is likely to take place over two days per week, depending on student uptake.

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled individual who is committed to delivering high standards of music education and who can inspire a love of music in pupils across a range of ages and abilities.

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching guitar to children (both classical and contemporary styles preferred)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A professional and flexible approach to working within a school environment
  • Willingness to undertake basic online safeguarding training

In line with safer recruitment guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to:

  • Provide the names and contact details of at least two referees
  • Complete a full vetting and DBS check
  • Attend an interview as part of the selection process
