You will be at the heart of ambitious ecological projects along the River Severn.
Your Role
As a Catchment Restoration Officer in the Worcestershire Middle Severn catchment, you will take a leading position in the delivery of innovative and impactful habitat creation and restoration projects, helping to enhance biodiversity and improve ecosystem resilience across the region.
What you will do
- Lead on the planning and delivery of habitat creation and restoration projects
- Work directly with private landowners, offering informed land management advice
- Deliver catchment-scale environmental improvements, aligning with wider landscape and biodiversity strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including farmers, communities, regulators, and partners
- Procure and manage contractors to deliver high-quality restoration works
- Work collaboratively within the wider Severn Rivers Trust team to share knowledge and ensure best practice
- Track and report on project progress, budgets, and outcomes, contributing to funding and evaluation needs
Who are we looking for
- Someone with a passion for river and catchment restoration, with a genuine commitment to improving the natural environment
- A hands-on person with experience in project delivery, particularly in practical habitat creation or restoration works
- An ability to build strong, trusting relationships with landowners and stakeholders, and communicate clearly and persuasively
- Someone who will thrive in a dynamic, field-based role, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing situations
- Understanding of UK environmental policy and land management practices, and how they relate to catchment restoration
- Someone self-motivated, practical, and keen to develop new skills as part of a supportive and forward-thinking team
