JOB TITLE:   Complementary Therapist – Bank

SALARY:   £18.27 per hour

St Christopher’s is looking for a Complementary Therapist who is registered to delivery massage therapy to join the Complementary Therapies Team on our staff bank. The team offer one to one sessions for both outpatients and those on the Inpatient unit, as well as carers and family members. Our services include aromatherapy, acupuncture, reflexology and therapeutic massage. We support people suffering with symptoms such as pain, breathing difficulties, anxiety/ stress, low moods, trouble sleeping, sweats, constipation, mouth ulcers, headaches/migraines, low energy, nausea/vomiting and poor body image.

Your new role will be to provide complementary therapies to our patients and carers. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, organising, and providing massage therapy that creates a caring and safe environment, addressing the comfort needs of our patients, and positively impacting on the patients’ wellbeing.

To succeed in this role you will have a recognised qualification in one or more complementary therapy specifically massage therapy and be registered with the CNHC. You will need able to build relationships and work within a multi-professional team liaising with other members when appropriate. You will be able to deliver individualised CT treatments - appropriate for patients with advanced disease and must understand the place of complementary therapies when working with individuals and their families.
