ST PETER'S COLLEGE, RADLEY
Radley College
Full-time
8th October 2025

Radley College has an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Economics to join us from January 2026. This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, and it is envisaged this will finish at the end of Lent term 2027.

The Economics Department at Radley is a thriving and energetic place to teach, where intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating an engaging and dynamic environment in which teaching excellence flourishes, and where both staff and students are inspired to think critically about the world around them.

The subject is one of the most popular choices at Radley, with over 100 students across Years 12 and 13, taught in 11 sets. Lessons are academically rigorous yet accessible and stimulating, designed to spark curiosity and develop a genuine love of the subject. Our students are ambitious, engaged, and eager to explore Economics beyond the syllabus. They embrace opportunities to debate ideas, read widely, and link economic theory to realworld events. Many achieve excellent results and progress to top universities, including Russell Group institutions and Oxbridge. To support them, we run weekly clinics, an Oxbridge preparation programme, and encourage participation in national essay competitions and our own lively Economics Society, where students often take the lead in peer-to-peer teaching and resource creation.

We have high expectations of all students and we support them to achieve their potential. An experienced teacher seeking a move into a strong department will find there is plenty of opportunity for responsibility and career development.
