Background to the Charity
Good Neighbours UK (GNUK) is a York-based charity working internationally to support communities affected by poverty, illness and crises.
We work with communities, local partners and funders to co-design, resource and implement development and humanitarian projects in low and middle-income countries.
Our model prioritises trust, localisation, and community-led action supported by global learning to deliver sustainable impact. We focus on what people tell us they need most - better access to education, clean water, healthcare, and livelihoods, while standing up for the rights of women and children, and helping communities adapt to climate change.
An independent UK-registered charity, we benefit from being part of the global Good Neighbors alliance, an international humanitarian network founded in South Korea over 30 years ago. Together we reached over 9.8m people in over 200 communities in 50 countries worldwide in 2024.
