Teach First is a charity that believes education is the
most powerful tool to help a child fulfil their potential.
We find and train teachers to work in the schools that
need them most, we equip school leaders with
evidence-led training, we support local teacher
training providers, and we plug education leaders
into supportive professional networks.

The role

The rundown: You will play a key role in the fundraising
team to deliver annual income targets through our third
party and challenge events, delivering exceptional
stewardship to participants and being able to deliver
excellent financial reporting and administration. You will
have a good understanding of event and community
fundraising, specifically integrated stewardship journeys,
the financial processes that go alongside events and
have a passion for the Teach First mission. You will play
a key role in growing and maintaining our events and
community income. You’ll bring expertise in managing
donors, excellent stewardship and operational tasks.

The detail: day-to-day work

•  Manage relationships with fundraisers and donors

including challenge events and community fundraisers
delivering high-quality personalised supporter experi-
ences. Manage the processing of places, offering
bought Charity places and maximising Own Place
acquisition. Manage and develop relationships with key
suppliers e.g. third party events contacts.

•  Engage with insights into our core audiences, under-

stand their motivations and needs and use this
information to create relevant and timely communica-
tions and plans. Attend some in person events –
occasional weekend and evening work is required for
which time off in lieu will be given. Manage events
materials and supplies.

•  Ensure that the database is continuously up to date

with supporter information and reports are able to be
pulled. Ensure all work complies with data protection
policies and legal requirements including the Fundrais-
ing Code of Practice.

You’ll take ownership for:

Stewardship and Engagement - Manage relationships
with donors and fundraisers undertaking challenge, third
party or community fundraising activity. Create steward-
ship journeys for all donors dependent on their activation
method.

Finance Processes - Manage the finance process from
thanking to banking reconciliation and work closely with
finance colleagues to implement.

Income Monitoring and Reporting - Track income from
managed donors and ensure accurate recording in CRM
systems. Provide regular updates on donor activity,
engagement levels, and retention rates.

Relationship Development - Identify opportunities to
deepen relationships with current donors and fundraisers
and support their journey toward higher levels of giving.
Respond promptly to funder inquiries and requests,
ensuring a high standard of service.

•  Create and execute a bespoke supporter journey per
product maximising income per head, Year on Year
growth, and encouraging retention.

Operational Support - Maintain accurate and up-to-date
records of all interactions and activities. Support the wider
fundraising team.

•  Manage the financial processing of all donors through

to thanking and banking.

This position is a level 2 role.

About you

The Essentials: make sure you demonstrate these in

•  At least 1 years' experience working within community,

events or engagement fundraising.

•  Skilled at building excellent relationships with a wide
range of supporters on the phone, in writing and face
to face with clear and professional written and verbal
communication. Anticipate supporters’ needs and
respond to them timely to create high quality supporter
experiences with the ability to tailor messages to
different audiences.

•  Accuracy in managing donor records, tracking income,

and delivering stewardship activities.

•  Able to take ownership of tasks, suggest improve-
ments, and resolve issues independently when
needed and able to manage multiple tasks and
deadlines, often across different projects.

•  Works well with colleagues across fundraising to

deliver joined-up stewardship.

•  Comfortable using CRM systems, email marketing

tools, and basic data analysis to inform engagement
strategies.

•  Prior engagement with youth, education or children’s
charities, whether professionally or as a volunteer.

•  You should have a commitment to and knowledge of
