Senior Project Housing Worker – Night Stop Facility in Rochdale
Post : Senior Project Worker Housing Worker
Location: Sanctuary Trust – Rochdale
Salary : SCP20, £12.60-£13.17 per hour
Hours: 84 hours and 14 sleeps per 4 week rota (average of 21 hours per week); Number of shifts per week can be flexible.
Qualifications: No specific formal qualifications required, previous experience and knowledge of Homelessness, accommodation projects and voluntary services would be advantageous.
Special duties : Unsociable hours of work in accordance with the needs of the Project are required. Availability on bank holidays and weekends required.
Purpose and objects of job
The post entails working in emergency accommodation. The post holder will be responsible for the day by day operation of the project which includes meeting the needs of homeless people who may have been sleeping rough. The post holder will work within the overall ethos of the Charity.
About you
- keen to make a difference to people’s lives by supporting and assisting those who have fallen on hard times
- Previous experience in a support or other relevant role
- Excellent communication skills and an empathetic nature
- Able to deal with the situations that occur from being homeless
- Working unsociable hours in accordance with the hostel’s needs
About the role
- The post entails working in overnight accommodation housing up to 6 adults aged 18+.
- Shifts are from 7pm to 12.00am and overnight sleep-in allowance, followed by morning 8am till closure at 9am.
- The post holder will be responsible for the night by night operation of the project which includes meeting the needs of homeless people who may have been sleeping rough.
- The role will require lone working.
