JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION Senior Advocate North East Lincolnshire 22.5 to 37.5 hours per week (to be discussed at interview) Post: Hours: Location: North East Lincolnshire Reports to: Direct Reports: Advocates (number depending on hours worked) Pay: Other: This is a permanent contract subject to a six-month probationary Service Manager £28,000 FTE period and an annual performance review. You will be required to complete the National Advocacy Qualification if not already held within 12 months of commencing in post. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) with barred list check. Two satisfactory references and evidence of a right to work in the UK must be provided. About the job: This role is to support the operational management and leadership of Cloverleaf’s advocacy service in North East Lincolnshire. This will include line management and supervision of a small team of advocates as well as some direct advocacy delivery. The Senior Advocate will work closely with the Service Manager in ensuring that the services delivered are high quality, effective and efficient and delivered in line with contractual and statutory requirements. The Senior Advocate role involves: • Managing the work of a team of advocates within the service, ensuring high quality and demonstrable outcomes for those who access the service. • Supporting the prioritisation and allocation of referrals. Taking responsibility for this in the Service Manager’s absence. • Ensuring the service provided is accessible and responsive. • Providing regular supervision to direct reports and conduct annual appraisals with the Service Manager. • Facilitating the induction and shadowing process for new staff. • Supporting the Service Manager monitor the performance of the advocacy service against contract obligations, outcomes and outputs. • Contributing to commissioner reports • Delivering advocacy awareness sessions to staff within the area as requested by commissioners. • Maintaining an awareness and understanding of case law impacting on the development of statutory advocacy provision. • Ensuring the service complies with and implements Cloverleaf Advocacy’s policies, procedures and quality standards. • Being responsible for being a good role model for team members All staff have a responsibility toward the effective running of Cloverleaf Advocacy. As such new tasks and duties may develop in the light of experience. These may be allocated where reasonable, after discussion with the postholder. About you: We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring that Cloverleaf continues to deliver outstanding advocacy and wants to take a key role in supporting advocates. You will; • Have at least 1 years’ experience of direct advocacy delivery • Hold or be working towards the National Advocacy Qualification • Be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of legislation affecting advocacy provision (Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) • Have experience of providing or receiving management or casework supervision. • Have excellent communication skills • Be able to manage a complex workload and to prioritise effectively • Be able to keep up to date and accurate records • Be able to take personal responsibility for your own performance, decisions and learning • Work effectively as part of a team • Have a flexible and positive approach • Work ethically and honestly • Be able to identify and report on safeguarding issues • Want to continually develop and improve service delivery • Have good IT skills and be proficient in using Microsoft Office 365 Additional requirements; • .
