We are seeking a new Chief Executive to lead our organisation.

Barnet Mencap has been supporting people with learning disabilities/and or autistic people in the London Borough of Barnet for 60 years.
 We provide
supported accommodation, leisure and learning activities, information, advice, guidance, children's services and so much more.  All while being committed
to equality, diversity, inclusion and the safeguarding of both children and adults.

We are looking for a new CEO to lead our caring, passionate and diverse organisation.  Someone who can form, maintain and develop relationships with
our  Trustees,  Chief  Operating  Officer,  Senior  Management  team  and  colleagues  across  the  organisation,  and  form  productive  relationships  with  all  our
partners and stakeholders.

They will also ensure that Barnet Mencap continues to be financially sustainable by maintaining existing contracts, grants and donors and seeking out new
sources of income.

The  successful  candidate  will  be  required  to  complete  an  enhanced  Disclosure  and  Barring  service  check  in  line  with  Section  115  of  The  Police  Act
1997.  They will also be expected to act in accordance with Barnet Mencap’s policies and standards – in particular, our Equalities, Diversity & Inclusion,
Health & Safety and Confidentiality Policies.

Our Departments

The Autism Hub is a community space and
support  centre  led  by  and  for  people  who
are autistic.

We offer:

• Interactive  workshops  and

social

activities.

• Peer-led learning and discussion.
• 1:1  casework  (in-person  and  remote)  for
challenges  around  healthcare  access,
social care, benefits, and education.

Community and Opportunity Project (COPs)

The COPs project provides social and leisure opportunities for adults with learning disabilities
and/or autistic people. We offer a wide range of activities, so there is something for everyone.

We offer two programmes, Springboard and Fit2gether:
Springboard offers social, cultural, educational, health, and wellbeing activities including meals out, bingo, pub visits, day trips, arts and
craft sessions, theatre and museum trips and cultural evenings.

Fit2gether offers the chance to try sports and physical activities at your own pace, whilst having fun and making friends. Activities
change over the course of the year, but regularly include swimming, Zumba, yoga, rugby, football, golf, and walking groups.

Employment

The Employment Project provides people with a learning disability and/or autistic people
first class employment support.

Support includes:
• Building pre-employment skills and personal development.
• Support to increase confidence and motivation.
• 1:1 support to upskill or group workshops.
• 1:1 in-work support via job coaching.
• Employment and training based on career goals.

Equality Housing

Equality Housing provide opportunities for people to live
independently in the community by empowering them to develop
and sustain new skills.

Our Services Include:

Shared Houses
Ideal for individuals who want to live with a group of peers.
You’ll receive regular visiting support to help build your skills
and confidence for independent living.

Outreach Support
Designed for people living in
their own homes who need
occasional support to
maintain independence or
prepare for the next stage in
their journey.

Social Support
One-to-one support for
community-based social
activities — helping you stay
connected, active, and
engaged.

Future Planning
For Carers

Barnet Mencap is working together with Barnet
Carers Centre to deliver a project aimed at
supporting Carers.

We help with:

Peer Support
Carer’s Assessment/Reviews
Signposting and Referring to Partner Agencies
Short breaks

Working For You

Working For You is a London Borough of Barnet funded service.
The  service  provides  free  information,  advice,  and  guidance  to
adults  with  a  Learning  Disability  and/or  are  autistic  who  live  in
the Borough of Barnet.

Raising Awareness and Training

Raising  awareness  about  learning  disabilities  and  autism  in  the
community is one of Barnet Mencap’s key aims and objectives.
We raise awareness by offering free training to those who come into
regular  contact  with  people  with  learning  disabilities  and/or  are
autistic  and  those  who  provide  services  that  they  use.  Doing  this
increases the likelihood that people will live as part of a more inclusive
society.

Children  &
Family Services

Offering support, advocacy, and short breaks for
parents of children and young people in the
borough of Barnet.

Project Support

The Project Support Department ensures all projects run smoothly from start to
finish. They provide structured guidance, tools, and oversight to help teams
stay on track, meet deadlines, and deliver quality outcomes. From planning to
completion, the team are here to support every step of the way.
