DEPARTMENT: Men’s First Team – Performance Analysis
REPORTS TO: Head of Performance Analysis
LOCATION: Robins High Performance Centre, BS8 3TN
Key Responsibilities
The role will focus on providing football analysis support to the First Team, primarily within – but not restricted to the following areas:
Training Analysis
- Lead in the capture of training sessions
- Lead in the coding and data generation of training sessions
- Create and manage training databases and interactive planners
Pre-match analysis
- Support in the preparation of pre-match content
- Support in profiling opposition teams in set pieces through the application of video and analytics
Match day responsibilities
- Lead in the capture of home match days
- Provide away game support when required
- Must be available to work at all senior matches (home and away)
Post-match analysis
- Assist with additional tasks when required
- Support in the collection and maintenance of set piece video databases
Education/Qualifications/Training
Essential
Minimum undergraduate degree relating to the field of sports science, data science or performance analysis
Desirable
Experience working in a professional football analysis environment
Post-graduate qualification in a related discipline
Coaching Qualification(s)
Competencies in the following software/hardware: Catapult Focus/Matchtracker, HUDL Sportscode Elite and HUDL platforms, Tableau
Skills/Knowledge
Ability to retain a very high standard of output whilst operating within strict deadlines
Effective at preparing, planning and implementing workloads
Technical and tactical understanding of football (strategies, systems, philosophies, game models)
Exceptional inter-personal skills that facilitate the effective delivery of performance insights, build connections and support a strong team cohesion
A willingness to work flexible hours in accordance with the demands of the role
Strong desire to continuously challenge, learn and move forward
Contribute to driving standards of practice within the performance analysis department
