The person holding this role will be responsible for leading the budgeting and forecasting process, monitoring operational and capital expenditure, and preparing financial reports for internal and external use. This role combines strategic financial planning with day-to-day analysis, requiring excellent technical skills, a proactive approach to risk and opportunity management, and the ability to act as a trusted colleague across the organisation. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical ability, accuracy, and communication skills, as well as the capacity to drive improvements in financial reporting and support the School’s commitment to excellence and transparency. Page 2 of 6 Financial Planning and Analysis Supervisor Job Advert Reports to: Head of Finance Type of contract: Permanent, Full-Time Place of Work: Upper School Holidays: 30 days per calendar year, to be taken outside of term time Position Overview The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Supervisor will play a key role in supporting the financial strategy and operational effectiveness of St Catherine’s British School. The role is responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis, ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements, and partnering with budget owners across the school to drive performance and informed decision-making. Working closely with the Head of Finance, Accounting Supervisor, and school leadership team, the postholder will ensure accurate financial reporting, support the preparation of financial statements, and lead the annual audit process. This is a dynamic and analytical role requiring strong technical skills, business acumen, and the ability to act as a trusted financial partner within the organisation. Main responsibilities Consolidate inputs to create the P&L of the School in all forecasts. Own the full process of forecasting, budgeting, and monitoring OpEx and CapEx. Lead the budget preparation process in collaboration with school leadership. Forecast and analyse all elements affecting the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. Prepare and evaluate monthly performance packages. Develop and deliver financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team. Act as Finance liaison to the Administration function and support budget owners across the School in Cash Flow and Operating Expenses. Identify financial risks and opportunities, proposing strategies to senior leadership. Participate in cross-functional processes and projects as required. Work with the Accounting team to ensure transactions are recorded correctly and in line with accounting standards. Monitor, develop, and report KPIs on a monthly and annual basis. Support the preparation of financial statements and lead the annual audit process in cooperation with the Accounting Supervisor. Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements. While the above includes a description of the essential functions of the position, other duties may be assigned by the Head of Finance or the Principal as appropriate.
