Job overview

Teaching Global Perspectives to students according to the requirements of the Cambridge International Curriculum.
Plan and deliver lessons to students in developing individual and collaborative researchbased skills in environmental/humanities/global issues-based topic areas
Research new topic areas and maintain up-to-date subject knowledge
Collaborate across subjects and cross curriculum links
Promote high standards in all aspects of school life, particularly in student progress.
Comply with the professional duties of the Staff Handbook and all policies and procedures.
Take a fair and appropriate share of additional duties.
Support and attend all major school events.

Engage positively in school Professional Learning and Development (PLD) provision, appraisal processes and performance management arrangements.
Maintain a teaching load appropriate to the position, and as directed by appropriate line manager and members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Are fully committed to safeguarding and to promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Keep up to date with curriculum developments through reading and CPD opportunities, attending CPD organised by school and proactively looking to further develop as a teacher.
Manage curriculum development and associated resources in a manner that challenges and interests students and is appropriate to their needs and skill-levels.
Take responsibility for curriculum delivery and associated resources in a manner consistent with school and departmental policies and procedures.
Prepare students for and administer summative assessment programmed including both school-based and externally examined assessments.
Maintain consistency with internal and relevant external marking schedules and moderation procedures.
Maintain legible, verifiable, accurate, comprehensive, defendable and fair records of formative and summative assessment results.
Write reports on student performance for internal and external use as required. • Promote student independence, leadership and voice within the curriculum and school overall.
Ensure that all internal examinations are set, conducted and marked in a manner consistent with external examination expectations.
Promote cross-curricular dimensions and the development of cross-curricular functional skills, particularly literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy. Form Tutoring
Any discussions regarding the academic and personal development of students involving members of staff, students and parents.
Discussions or intervention with students between tutors, teachers or leadership.
Formal reviews between tutors, teachers or the leadership of each student’s personal academic profile with the aim of supporting academic achievement.
Correspondence from tutors, teachers or the leadership to parents discussing each student’s personal academic/pastoral profiles.
Regular correspondence with parents as the initial school point of contact (POC).
Weekly tutor time programme and engagement with additional programmes.
