Job overview

We are looking to recruit a friendly, motivated, newly qualified Nurse Associate. The successful candidate will have a background of working in a primary care setting.

This position will be based at our North Shields practices. The successful candidate will be providing a high level of care to patients of NPC practices. This is a post for a full time position. Working patterns would be considered and explored further at interview stage.

Main duties of the job

The candidate will continue to undertake aspects of the Health Care Assistant role whilst further developing the skills gained as part of their nurse associate training. You will undergo an extensive training programme working towards, but not limited to, dressing management and wound care, administration of injections, chronic disease management, lifestyle advice, cervical screening. You will utilise your skills to support the nurses and GPs in clinic, including minor surgery and women's health. You will help manage infection control and stock levels and participate in quality improvement and audits.

Whilst appointees will have a base practice within NPC, they may be asked to work at other practices across our group. We do however limit this as much as possible as we appreciate continuity is vital to effective primary care.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
  • Nursing Associate Foundation Degree qualification
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Qualification in assessment, supervision and teaching in clinical practice
