WEST Youth Zoneis a vital provision that will make a huge impact on the lives ofyoung people, and on the whole borough, levelling the playingfield for our young people. “WEST” Youth Zone, named Where Everyone SticksTogether by local young people, opened on April this year. AtWEST, we believe all young people in West London should havethe opportunity to discover their passion and their purpose andbe able to explore where it can take them. Our Youth Zone is a purpose-built space fizzing with energy andcrammed with incredible facilities. Staffed by talented, skilledand dedicated youth workers who truly believe in youngpeople, helping them see what they could achieve, and givingthem the skills, confidence and ambition to go for it. Open 7 days a week, while schools are closed - that’s eveningsand weekends, plus all through the school holidays. We offer asafe and active space for young people to flourish in theirleisure time, where their interests can be nurtured, and they cangrow as individuals. This is a charity that the whole communitycan be proud of, and you can be part of that journey. Comply with all policies, procedures, and codes of conduct, with particular reference toSafeguarding, Health & Safety, and Equality and Diversity.Understand the needs of WEST Youth Zone and communicate them in a clear, consistentway to the young people, parents and guardians.Work within the performance framework of WEST Youth Zone and OnSide.Represent WEST Youth Zone positively and effectively in all dealings with internalcolleagues, and external partners.To be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safetyof Youth Zone members is promoted and safeguarded, and to report any child protectionconcerns to the designated Child Protection Officers using the safeguarding policies,procedures and practice (training to be provided).To assist with any promotional activities and visits that take place at the Youth Zone.To actively promote the Youth Zone and positively contribute towards increasing YouthZone membership.Any other duties that may be requiredAlongside providing support and care to children and young people with special educationalneeds (SEN) and disabilities, SEN/D Youth Worker also help with the children's engagementin WEST’s Arts, Sports, Wellbeing, and Lifeskill focused activities. The main duties of SENspecialists include: Youth workers plan and deliver high quality youth work that supports young people in theirpersonal, social and educational development.
