We are an independent local charity based in Bosham, Chichester offering a wide range of services to support our patients, and their loved ones, who are living with a life limiting or terminal illness. The work we do makes a real difference to the lives of local people and we support over 330 patients at any one time between our In Patient Unit and Community teams.
Being a Senior RGN in our Community Team
Part-Time or Full-Time | 22.5 – 37.5 hours per week | Monday – Friday, no weekends
We are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse to join our dedicated Community Team. Our Hospice Community Team care for patients in any setting, wherever they are living. Whether you’re looking for part-time or full-time hours, this role gives you the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families, delivering exceptional palliative and end-of-life care at home.
As a Senior Registered Nurse, you will lead by example, providing clinical expertise and ensuring the highest standards of person-centred nursing care. You will play a vital role in coordinating complex care needs, supporting patients and their families with compassion, and promoting a safe, seamless, and supportive care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide skilled nursing care to patients in need of specialist palliative end of life care, and support loved ones pre and post bereavement.
- Provide proactive, safe, and seamless quality nursing care to patients, co-ordinating their care needs facilitating a supportive, caring and compassionate environment.
- To demonstrate high standards of person-centred care and leadership of clinical expertise, acting as a mentor to supervise members of the nursing team including students and volunteers
- Manage own caseload and participate in the supervision and co-ordination of the work of nursing staff on a shift by shift basis.

Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent nursing qualification and active NMC registration
- Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care(or working towards one)
- Post-registration experience at Band 5 or abovein cancer, palliative care, or a related specialty
- Advanced communication skillsfor end-of-life conversations, advance care planning, and ReSPECT documentation
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, able to coordinate staff, volunteers, and patient care
- Right to Work in the UK is essential
