We are looking for a Community Project Officer to join our friendly team. This is a varied and rewarding role focussed on engaging and supporting children and families on our exciting Go Play and HuB projects in Sandwell. As an enthusiastic and motivated individual you will be part of a team that offers support, guidance and a listening ear to our families.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Working with families and their children who are aged 0 – 12, (up to 16 with additional needs)
- Leading in setting up and supervising open access after-school and holiday sessions
- Delivering activities ranging from arts and crafts, environmental play to gardening
- Working in different settings, from community centres, libraries to parks
- Building positive relationships with local communities
- Supporting creative and interesting opportunities for play
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, well-organised, and confident communicating with families from all walks of life.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and managing basic admin and reporting tasks.
- Interested in community / play work and motivated to help build confidence, skills and increase the well-being of children and parents.
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Experienced in community engagement, the delivery of activities and has a passion for raising the profile of a childrens’ right to play.
A full driving licence is essential and access to own vehicle for the role which entails travel to various sites around the region.
