Summary of role

Facilitating, setting up and working on shows, concerts, conferences, exhibitions, meetings and
other events, as well as assisting with general cleanliness, organisation and maintenance of
Fairfield Halls and its equipment.

Ensuring the highest standards are achieved whilst adhering and complying with all current health
and safety legislation and section standard operating procedures.

Key responsibilities

•  Assist with the safe Get-in, operation and get-out of productions and events.
•  Operate and programme AV, and design lighting and sound for productions and events as

required.

•  Assist with ensuring that in-house equipment is in good order, maintained and stored

correctly.

•  Receive, collect and load/off-load equipment as required.
•  Collect and return equipment from and to storage areas.
•  To assist within the technical operations team, preparing or running of any events.
•  To ensure workshops and stage areas are kept clean and tidy.
•  To comply with BH Lives Health and Safety policies and procedures.
•  To participate in any training sessions/seminars/exercises relevant to casual technicians.
•  To work effectively as part of the team, ensuring the highest quality of service.
•  To communicate effectively with all other sections.
•  To undertake such other duties as required within the general scope and grade of the

post.

•  This post involves manual handling, working at heights, shift work and working evenings,

nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

You must be prepared to be flexible in your approach to working to reflect the changing
nature of the business.

Skills and experience

Details
Basic understanding of health and safety legislation.
Experience of technical work with live events.
Basic understanding of technical equipment & systems used on live events.
Have a strong work ethic.
Good communication skills.
Self-motivated.
Able to work as part of a team.
Presentable Appearance – will be required to wear a supplied uniform
Experience of working at heights, manual handing and lifting
Must be available to work late nights, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
