Do you want to use your people skills to change lives?

We are looking for someone who is great at meeting people, building trust, and working with partner organisations.

About Us

The Hepatitis C Trust is one of the biggest lived experience charities in the UK. We support people who may find it hard to get healthcare, including people living with hepatitis C. We believe in equality, diversity, and inclusion.

About the Role

As a Peer Support Lead, you will:

  • Reach out to people in the community, including people who use drugs, people who are homeless, or people who have been in prison.
  • Build strong links with services like hostels, drug services, and other local partners.
  • Give training and workshops about health, including hepatitis C, HIV and liver health.
  • With training, do simple finger-prick tests for hepatitis and HIV.
  • Support, train, and lead a team of lived experience volunteers.

This role involves travel around the area. A driving licence and car are helpful but not essential. We give training for all parts of the job.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a great communicator and able to connect with people from all walks of life.
  • Has a great understanding of the communities we work with.
  • Can build trust and keep good boundaries.
  • Is confident working with partner organisations and NHS staff.
  • Can lead and support a small team of volunteers.
  • Is able to work on your own.

We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience.

What We Offer

  • Full training and ongoing support.
  • The chance to make a real difference to people’s lives.
  • Being part of a supportive and passionate team.
