SOUTHWELL AND NOTTINGHAM DIOCESAN BOARD OF FINANCE
Wiverton in the Vale, Nottinghamshire
Full-time
28th October 2025

Working for us as a member of clergy in one of our rural, urban, or inner city parishes will be as varied and interesting as the people of Nottinghamshire you serve. The diocese is based in the heart of the East Midlands, close to the bustling city of Nottingham, and with easy access to London by train with good transport links up, down and across the country. You can be assured of regular pastoral and spiritual support from our Discipleship and Ministry Team, ensuring that your development needs are met in your Ministerial Development Review, with opportunities for peer support and personal growth.

One flock, one shepherd, six pastures

Could you be the person God is calling to be our new rector? We’re offering an exciting opportunity for you to lead us forward at a pivotal time in the life of our parish.

Our parish is composed of six churches that enjoy shared worship, enthusiastic teamwork, efficient support from a parish administrator and good financial management. Church members are active in our local villages, witnessing our love of our Lord Jesus Christ and offering spiritual nourishment in a variety of traditional and informal services as well as fellowship and care to people of all ages. Over the past 18 months we’ve started to introduce promising new initiatives for worship, Bible study, outreach and children’s ministry. With warm relationships with our three primary schools (including a church school) and new housing developments within the parish, the time is ripe to build on strong foundations and extend our outreach to children, young people and families.

We’re always open to new ideas and hope you’ll be inspired to bring your own approach to increasing God’s kingdom in the communities we serve. In return, we’ll support you every step of the way with prayers, friendship and practical help.

Our parish lies within the beautiful countryside of the Vale of Belvoir in South Nottinghamshire. It’s a wonderful place to make your home, combining the peace and community spirit of rural life with easy access to the facilities and transport links of nearby towns. The four-bedroomed rectory is in a quiet spot at the heart of the village of Cropwell Bishop, which has a good range of shops and businesses, a primary school and nursery, a doctors’ surgery and many social/community groups and activities.
