178a New London Road Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 0AR www.stcedds.org.uk Charity No: 310865 School Caretaker/Site Manager St Cedd’s School is seeking to appoint a reliable, hardworking and experienced Caretaker/Site Manager for our highly successful 3-11 co-educational IAPS preparatory school based in the centre of Chelmsford. St Cedd’s School occupies a four-acre site and we take pride in maintaining the buildings and grounds to the highest standards and providing a safe and secure working environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The Caretaker/Site Manager is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day duties of running the site, including first line repairs and maintenance of the School site buildings and grounds, management of contractors, security of the premises and its contents, and assisting in the monitoring and testing of building systems to ensure the School meets its legal obligations under regulatory compliance. You will need to be flexible, take pride in your work and be able to work with all members of the School Community. Basic computer skills and an understanding of health and safety are required together with a range of DIY skills including painting, carpentry, general maintenance and gardening. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience of working in a similar position and must hold a valid driving licence. Occasional out of hours and weekend work will be required together with dealing with any emergencies when the School is closed. Hours: 40 hours a week Monday to Friday. Start and finish times to be agreed. The hours may be variable to suit the needs of the job.
