Development Officer

Work somewhere where a job is not just a ‘job’, where you can be part of a team with a passion for protecting and sharing Scotland’s heritage. Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott, is one of Scotland’s most important heritage sites and easily accessible from Edinburgh by road and rail.

Now cared for by an independent charity, we are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Development team as Development Officer: Supporter Care, playing a key role in building lasting supporter relationships and securing the future of Abbotsford.

The Abbotsford Trust is the charity that promotes the life, works and legacy of 19th-century writer Sir Walter Scott and safeguards his historic home at Abbotsford. This is an important role within a small but mighty development team of three people.

If you are keen to get involved in all aspects of fundraising, love being hands-on, and would relish being behind the scenes in a historic house, then this could be the role for you. The perfect candidate would have experience with CRMs, ideally within a charity, have outstanding attention to detail, be systems-oriented and a good project manager, and have excellent customer service skills.
