Job Descrip(cid:415)on & Person Specifica(cid:415)on – Day Services Support Worker Rose Road is a Southampton-based charity that since 1952 has been suppor(cid:415)ng children and young people with complex disabili(cid:415)es and care needs, and their families, from across Hampshire and surrounding areas. We provide overnight short respite breaks, on-site and community-based day services, flexible outreach support and at-home care, and SEN advice services. Role: Day Services Support Worker Responsible to: Assistant Manager Hours: Loca(cid:415)on: Salary: Closing date Job Descrip(cid:415)on Summary Flexible 16-30 hour contract The day Services operate between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Contracts available are between 16-30 hours a week. More hours are available during school holidays if you want them. Based at Rose Road and/or out in the community throughout Southampton and south Hampshire. £12.90 – £13.90 per hour. The weekday rate is £12.90 per hour. The enhanced rate is £13.90 per hour and is paid for all weekend hours and waking hours from 9pm to 7am on weekdays. Open ended applica(cid:415)on As a Day Services Support Worker, you will have the exci(cid:415)ng opportunity to support disabled children and young people to thrive by providing kind, respec(cid:414)ul and professional care to those who access our day services, “The Hut@ Rose Road”, based at the Bradbury Centre, and “Des(cid:415)na(cid:415)ons”, based in the community. This will include all aspects of personal care, including washing, personal hygiene, dressing, moving (via hoist as required) and assis(cid:415)ng with meals (orally or through feeding tubes). With Des(cid:415)na(cid:415)ons, you will plan and deliver individually tailored, person-centred leisure ac(cid:415)vi(cid:415)es and opportuni(cid:415)es for our young people to learn, play and explore safely while out and about in the community, to develop new skills, spend (cid:415)me socialising with friends and build a sense of belonging and achievement. There will be lone working involved as well as the opportunity to make group trips to exci(cid:415)ng des(cid:415)na(cid:415)ons across the region. Job Descrip(cid:415)on & Person Specifica(cid:415)on – Day Services Support Worker Role specific tasks and responsibili(cid:415)es In the Hut, you will plan social ac(cid:415)vi(cid:415)es such as arts and cra(cid:332)s, baking, gardening, dance, music, watching films in our cinema room and going on walks in the local area – the opportuni(cid:415)es are endless! You will be able to communicate clearly using their preferred method of communica(cid:415)on, ensuring their needs are met at all (cid:415)mes. You will also communicate well with colleagues, suppor(cid:415)ng each other and building trus(cid:415)ng working rela(cid:415)onships. Transport - To transport young people in your own vehicle or a Rose Road accessible vehicle, including collec(cid:415)ng people from home, accessing community ac(cid:415)vi(cid:415)es and bringing them to and from the Bradbury Centre. Outreach requires you to be able to drive. Repor(cid:415)ng/Recording – To complete clear and detailed daily records to ensure their support plan is followed; to file away, maintain and store daily records in line with the policy. Safeguarding - ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed and ensure that all service users are protected from harm at all (cid:415)mes; be aware of the repor(cid:415)ng protocols for a safeguarding concern or incident; be aware of your responsibility to iden(cid:415)fy and act on any examples of poor safeguarding prac(cid:415)ce in the se(cid:427)ng Carry out rou(cid:415)ne domes(cid:415)c tasks that contribute to general upkeep such as shopping, cooking, laundry, cleaning and bed making A(cid:425)end and ac(cid:415)vely par(cid:415)cipate in supervision with your line manager Undertake all mandatory and relevant training as iden(cid:415)fied and agreed with line manager to ensure personal and professional growth and to adhere to all Rose Road Associa(cid:415)on policies.
