About Us
VAST is a registered charity dedicated to supporting and empowering the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Stoke-on-Trent. We aim to foster strong local networks, strengthen community engagement, and build the capacity of local community groups.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Project Officer to lead the delivery of the InVOLved project across Hanley and Stoke. This role involves coordinating a small team, working closely with partners, and supporting individuals who have experienced homelessness or social disadvantage to connect with community spaces, develop skills, and progress towards volunteering, training, or employment.
You will champion trauma-informed and inclusive practices, oversee micro-engagement activities, and ensure the project meets its objectives. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on leadership, collaboration, and making a tangible difference in local communities.

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in leading community-based projects, ideally within the VCSE sector.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills to inspire and support a diverse team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with participants and partners.
- Skilled in project planning, delivery, and evaluation.
- Ability to manage complex logistics and adapt delivery to meet participant needs.
- Good IT skills and confidence in maintaining administrative systems.
- Commitment to equality, inclusion, and trauma informed approaches.
- Ability to travel locally and work occasional evenings/weekends.
