Job Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in

Pre-Prep. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to ensure the pupil can

access the curriculum and reach their full potential.  This is a fixed-term contract, for 2 school terms from

January (or as soon as is practicable following safer recruitment checks) to July 2026.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

●  Provide 1:1 support to the pupil in line with the teaching and learning planned by the teacher and their

individual targets as appropriate to the lesson

Implement specific strategies to help maintain focus during lessons

●
●  Support the pupil to develop independence and self-regulation
●  Assist in developing and maintaining the pupil's social skills and positive peer relationships
●  Support the development of independence skills while providing necessary scaffolding
●
Liaise with parents/carers, teachers, and other professionals involved with the pupil
●  Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies consistently

●  Support the aims and ethos of the school
●  Model excellence in terms of behaviour, communication, dress code, punctuality and attendance
●  Actively support and model the Staff Core Values, managing conflict appropriately
●  Uphold the school’s policies on behaviour, discipline, bullying, child protection and safeguarding

Professional Attributes, Qualifications & Experience

●  Good literacy and numeracy skills (minimum GCSE grade C in English and Mathematics)
●  Knowledge of strategies to support children with attention difficulties
●

Experience in primary education settings

●

Training and/or experience in working with children with SEND profiles
