About Norwood
Founded in 1795, Norwood is the oldest Jewish charity in the UK. We support and empower neurodiverse children and their families and people with neurodevelopmental disabilities to live their best lives.
At Norwood, you’ll make a real difference every day. You’ll be part of a supportive and inclusive team, guided by values of kindness, respect, empowerment and belonging. We invest in your growth, care about your wellbeing, and give you the pride of knowing your work changes lives.
About The Green
The Green is a spacious, single-level home set around a green courtyard on the Ravenswood Estate, supporting eleven adults aged 30s to 70s with mild to severe neurodevelopmental disabilities, including learning disabilities, autism, and additional needs such as epilepsy and mental health conditions.
The setting includes 13 self-contained flats, each with a bedroom, bathroom and drink-making facilities, centred around a communal hub with kitchen, lounges, dining area, laundry and TV spaces. Residents hold keys to their own flats and are supported to maintain as much independence as possible.
People we support communicate in various ways, including spoken language, Makaton, PECS, and objects of reference. Several individuals have Positive Behaviour Support Plans, which you’ll follow with consistency and respect.
