Bonnier Books UK is looking for a creative marketing executive to join the adult trade division working for our digital-first imprint, Embla. In its fourth year of publishing, Embla is already home to a number of globally bestselling authors, generating significant revenue and presenting lots of opportunities for further growth. We were shortlisted for Imprint of the Year at the British Book Awards 2025 for our innovative approach, steep growth and dedication to author care. You’ll be working on our commercial fiction, with a focus on romance, historical and women’s fiction. In this role, you will work alongside our team to plan and execute campaigns for our titles and grow our online communities.
You’ll have a passion for learning and honing your digital advertising skills and a love of content creation and social media trends. You'll have demonstrable experience in direct-to-consumer marketing, and be passionate about bringing creative marketing campaigns to life. We're looking for a marketer who is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment as a team player, with strong communication and organisation skills. - Develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns for your titles that maximise reach, drive sales and revenue, including setting up and managing social advertising and digital campaigns
- Actively contribute to the strategy and growth of our direct-to-consumer and influencer marketing channels, helping to grow them through social channel and newsletter management
- Manage Embla’s social media, including Facebook, TikTok and Instagram looking at further opportunity channels
- Create engaging multi-platform content in line with consumer insights and trends tailored to different readers
- Build relationships with influencers, bloggers, bookstagrammers and booktokers
- Analyse campaign performance and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and optimise future marketing efforts
- Work closely with the team to maximise digital price promotions (Kindle deals)
- Support the head of digital marketing on series author and brand marketing campaigns to ensure they are best in class
- Actively participating in Embla’s acquisition discussions
- Assist with administrative duties including design, mailings, assisting with invoicing processing and attending events and shoots
- Support a culture of collaboration and transparency, as well as deliver best-in-class author care, working closely with the sales, editorial and audio teams
Knowledge, skills & experience
- Experience of running consumer focused marketing campaigns
- Experience and passion for growing and engaging audiences across social platforms including X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and newsletter with a knowledge of what works across different platforms
- Knowledge of digital advertising and some experience in running social advertising (Meta)
- Strong content creation skills, including design, copywriting and video creation/editing
- Experience managing social channels including content planning, scheduling, monitoring and responding to messages
- Strong communication skills, and a proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Understanding of digital readers’ behaviour (ebook and audiobook) and how to reach and engage different types of audiences. You’re curious about the next big thing and look for new opportunities to use data and trends to reach and convert customers
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
- Ability to take a creative and imaginative approach to engaging consumers
- The ideal candidate will have some experience in marketing, in the book trade or complimentary industry
