Our mission is to provide a world where autistic people live happy and fulfilled lives. We support and educate autistic people throughout their lives and redefine what’s possible by providing innovative and transformative services. We have an ambitious five-year plan to achieve our objectives and are looking for values driven individuals to contribute to these future successes.
Community Governors are a critical role within the College and the overarching Charity. We are seeking to appoint a new governor with the experience and expertise to support the SEND strategy and education provided by the college. The ideal candidate will have experience of education, special educational needs and disabilities and willingness to learn about further education and autism.
As a community governor, in this volunteer role, you will collaborate with the Governing Body, Trustees, and Senior Leadership team to make sure they effectively carry out the duties referred to above. You’ll also play a vital role in bringing a strategic perspective to the organisation, ensuring that charity funds are used in accordance with their intended purpose and achieve the maximum benefit for students and the community.
To be a community governor you should have:
- A strong commitment to the role and to improving outcomes for autistic young people
- Good inter-personal skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
- The drive to support all aspects of effective governance, including undertaking training and development activities.
