TRANSFORM YOUNG LIVES Job Role: Detached Youth Worker Salary: £12.60 ph This role will require you to work Evenings. Working with young people age 8-19 (25 with additional needs), we transform lives, helping them be the best they can be. Detached youth work takes place in areas young people feel most comfortable such as on their neighborhoods. in parks and around the street, Detached work provides informal education by bringing information to young people ,listening and hearing their needs and creating projects which support the detached programme. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Be a role model for young people and present a positive “can do” attitude. Take personal responsibility for own actions. Commit to a culture of continuous improvement. Work within the performance framework of Inspire Youth Zone and OnSide. Represent Inspire Youth Zone positively and effectively in all dealings with internal colleagues, and external partners. Work with young people to build positive relationships and develop their skills Deliver a high-quality programme of activity that is exciting, safe, varied, innovative, developmental, and directly responds to the diverse needs and interests of members Comply with all policies and procedures, with particular reference to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety and equality and diversity to ensure all activities are accessible To actively promote the Youth Zone THE ESSENTIALS Experience of face to face activity delivery with groups of young people Ability to deliver high quality programmes with children and young people Experience of working with young people from diverse backgrounds and with challenging needs Experience of delivering a wide- range of sports or activity sessions Knowledge of health and safety, diversity awareness and safeguarding best practice Able to work both as part of a team and under own initiative Able to plan and evaluate programs of activity including production of session plans and evaluations Able to communicate effectively with young people, team members and members of the public Ability to engage and build positive relationships with young people POSITIVE AND ENTHUSIASTIC PUNCTUAL AND RELIABLE BELIEF IN YOUNG PEOPLE ENHANCED DBS CLEARANCE BE A POSITIVE ROLE MODEL TO YOUNG PEOPLE IN NUMBERS THE DESIRABLES Experience of working with young people with challenging needs sports experience is a advantage but not essential Driving license Experience in evaluation and community projects THE OTHER STUFF The normal hours of work are Monday (5:45-9:15), Wednesday (5:45-9:15) and Friday(5.45-9.15) To apply, send your CV and cover letter to lisa.holmes@inspireyouthzone.org Interviews will be ongoing and applications will close once an offer of employment is made DEALT WITH 433 CAUSE FOR CONCERNS OVER 54,000 VISITS FROM YOUNG PEOPLE DELIVERED 12,534 ACTIVITIES PROVIDED 9,522 FREE MEALS
