Stockwell Kids Club Coordinator 1 JOB DESCRIPTION: STOCKWELL KIDS CLUB COORDINATOR Appointment of a Stockwell Kids Club Coordinator Could you be our next Kids Club Coordinator? We love children at Christ Church London and we are looking for a fun and dynamic Kids worker to support our growing Stockwell service. As the Kids Club Coordinator you will play a crucial role in guiding and nurturing the spiritual growth of children and their families within the Stockwell community. Working with the local Service Leader and Head of Families you will support the Kid’s Club leadership team with organisation, hands on support and lots of energy to provide a great experience for the families who attend. 2 JOB DESCRIPTION: STOCKWELL KIDS CLUB COORDINATORJob Context – This role involves working with children aged between 3 and 13 years and we currently have around 25 children on our books - a number that is growing! The wider service currently has around 50 adults attending and another 5-10 babies from age 0-3. We currently have a Kids Club leadership team led by volunteers and this role involves supporting them with the running of Kids Club on Sundays and midweek. Roles and responsibilities – • Sundays - Ensure all families, both new and regular receive a fantastic welcome to church - Organise resources as necessary and physically set up and take down the activity room for Sunday Kids Club and other children’s events, including arranging furniture, setting up equipment, and ensuring the space is safe and welcoming. ●- Actively engage with and be a helper or leader at each Sunday Kids Club and other children’s events ●- Ensure that children are safe in our care and to liaise effectively with the Safeguarding Lead • Midweek - - Prepare each Sunday’s service, in conjunction with the Head of Families and Sutton Kids Worker, following the shared curriculum. Set rotas termly on our database, ensuring any gaps are filled - Communicate to parents regarding Sundays and the curriculum. - Collate and resources for church as and when needed • Wider Responsibility - Attend relevant core team meetings and training with Stockwell team with other ministry leaders - Support ad hoc family related projects and events e.g. Leader and Head of Families (e.g. Easter / Christmas events for kids) Person Specification – • Personal Qualities - Deep Christian faith: A strong personal relationship with God and a passion for children’s ministry which would typically be seen through existing church involvement and service - Fun: passionate with the ability to engage children and adults alike - Honest and accountable: model ethical behaviour and integrity, maintaining clear boundaries as appropriate - Empathic and patient with children and their families - Self-motivated: able to drive activities forward - Reliable: punctual with excellent time management • Skills and Competencies - Organisational skills: competent in planning, organising, and executing programs and events. - Communication skills: effective in communicating biblical teachings in an engaging and age- appropriate manner - Capable of setting up a room, including performing lifting, moving, setting up equipment and furniture for children’s activities and other similar manual handling tasks. - Thinking outside the box: able to problem solve and create solutions to problems - Tenacious: a hard worker who sets ambitious goals and perseveres to achieve them 3 JOB DESCRIPTION: STOCKWELL KIDS CLUB COORDINATOR • Experience More information - - - Experience with working with children and adults – Experience working in a team Spiritual growth: able to demonstrate regular involvement in the life of their church and confident in leading kids spiritually • Working hours: 5 hours per week - approx 4 hours on Sunday and 1 hours to be worked midweek, with occasional evenings. Some flexibility is required on exact hours. - Able to demonstrate good sound knowledge of the bible and its application in daily life - Safety and child protection: Knowledge of child safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
