About the Role
Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP), part of Waythrough, delivers Respect-accredited perpetrator and young people’s services to reduce harm, increase safety, and create lasting change for families affected by domestic abuse. In this role, you’ll be part of our Children and Young People’s Service (CYPS), working directly with young people who have been impacted by domestic abuse. You’ll play a key part in supporting their safety, emotional wellbeing, and positive development, while helping parents/carers and partner services to respond appropriately to risk and harm. You’ll have the opportunity to shape and further develop DVIP’s young people’s offer across London.
What You’ll Do
- Provide structured 1–1 or group interventions with young people affected by domestic abuse
- Work directly with parents/carers to improve safety, strengthen relationships, and reduce harm
- Manage referrals, assess risk, and determine suitability for intervention
- Deliver outreach in schools and community settings across London boroughs
- Offer specialist consultation, training and advice to partner agencies such as Children’s Services, Schools, and Youth Offending Services
- Maintain accurate case records, produce professional reports, and manage associated administration
- Work flexibly across multiple locations, including occasional early evenings
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need
- Experience working directly with young people and delivering structured support (e.g. 1–1 work, group-work, counselling, behaviour change interventions)
- Strong understanding of adolescent development, trauma, domestic abuse, child abuse, and their impact on young people
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and multi-agency working
- Ability to respond to challenging behaviour in a consistent, supportive, and trauma-informed way
- Confident communicator able to engage with children, young people, carers, and professionals about complex and sensitive issues
- Ability to work independently, manage your own caseload, and adapt to working across multiple delivery locations

Aquarius is a subsidiary of Waythrough. Aquarius is a Midlands-based charity supporting individuals to overcome the harms caused by drugs, alcohol and gambling. Aquarius has always held the view that people we support could resolve their problems with support and guidance and that people have the ability to find their own solutions to their problems.
