Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure in Ilford is seeking an ambitious and experienced Head Coach to lead and develop London Borough of Redbridge (LBR) Swim Club into a thriving, competitive, and successful swimming programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven leader who can inspire swimmers of all abilities.

Working Hours: Part Time, 30 hours a week

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with proven coaching and leadership experience. Applicants should hold a minimum of the Swim England Senior Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 3 Award, or Swim England Swimming Coach/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award, with experience. You will have experience coaching swimmers at club level and above, with a track record of developing swimmers through County, Regional and National competitions. You will also need to have the ability to inspire and motivate swimmers, coaches, and volunteers alike.

Job requirements:

  • Set the vision and performance targets for the Swim Club.
  • Design and deliver annual training plans that meet the needs of all squads and individual swimmers.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of coaches and volunteers to deliver high-quality coaching.
  • Manage competitions, training schedules, and swimmer progression pathways.
  • Work with Centre Managers to grow participation and increase club membership.
  • Play a pivotal role in developing the reputation and long-term success of LBR Swim Club.

Essential requirements:

  • A dynamic leader with proven experience managing swimming programmes.
  • Swim England Senior Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 3 Coaching Award, or Swim England Swimming Coach/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award with experience.
  • Strong understanding of competitive swimming and athlete development pathways.
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to inspire coaches, volunteers, and swimmers.
  • Effective communicator who can work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including Swim England.
