Coquetdale Chamber Choir
Coquetdale Chamber Choir is seeking a new Music Director from September 2026.
We invite expressions of interest to take the Choir forward into a new chapter.
This is an exciting, freelance opportunity for an experienced conductor to work with the us to develop repertoire, membership and audience.
Over its 15 years existence, current leadee, John Casken, has developed the Choir into a well-respected chamber ensemble, now eager to embrace the future.

With a wide repertoire of a Capella works, stretching from the baroque period to contemporary pieces, the choir likes to promote the music of living composers. Current leader, John Casken is now stepping back from leading the choir to concentrate on his composing and art.
Currently we meet weekly in Rothbury, and singers are drawn from the Coquetdale area and across Northumberland. Annual workshops led by a skilled vocal coach or choir leader attract other singers and aim to build choir membership. Performances in Spring, Summer and late Autumn in historic venues around the county attract appreciative audiences.
This is a freelance, fee-paid position with an estimated commitment of 36 two-hour sessions p.a. plus concerts. Terms are negotiable and further details are provided in the information pack. There is also more about the choir on the website: www.coquetdalechamberchoir.org.uk
