Job Description

Thrive’s vision is that gardening is actively encouraged as part of personal health and wellbeing
management and Social & Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) services are available wherever people
live.

We’re looking for a creative and skilled Content Creator to join our Communications and Marketing
Team and help bring Thrive’s mission to life. This role is all about producing engaging, high-quality
content that inspires, informs, and connects with our audiences. From crafting compelling stories
and designing eye-catching visuals to creating videos and managing social media, you’ll play a key
part in boosting awareness and engagement across all our channels.

Broad Outline of Key Responsibilities –
•  Create engaging multimedia content (videos, graphics, vlogs, photography) for Thrive’s website

and social media channels

•  Design and deliver campaign visuals and promotional materials that reflect Thrive’s brand and

messaging

•  Manage social media activity, including scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and

responding to trends

•  Collaborate with teams to source and develop compelling stories and case studies for online and

offline use

•  Monitor content performance and provide insights to improve engagement, influencing and

inform future campaigns

Purpose of role
To strengthen and create engaging, high-quality content (video, graphics, photography, and copy)
for Thrive’s digital channels, supporting campaigns, fundraising, and service promotion. The role
focuses on creative storytelling, visual creativity, and production to boost awareness, influence
audiences, and drive engagement, ultimately inspiring, informing, and connecting with our
communities.

Key Responsibilities

•  Develop and deliver engaging multimedia content aligned with Thrive’s communications and

marketing strategy

•  Collaborate with the Comms and Marketing Officer to ensure consistency across channels
•  Create visually impactful posts for Thrive’s social channels, focusing on storytelling and

engagement

•  Manage content calendars for multimedia projects and campaigns
•  Monitor performance of content and provide insights to improve engagement
•  Ensure all content reflects Thrive’s brand guidelines and tone of voice

Content Creation

•  Plan, create, and publish high-quality engaging content (vlogs, videos, graphics, animations,

photography) for Thrive’s website and social media channels.

•  Develop creative campaign assets to grow audiences and increase engagement across our

platforms

•  Review current website content, ensuring regular audits
•  Work collaboratively with teams to source and develop compelling stories and case studies

for both online and offline content

•  Edit and optimise content for different platforms and audiences
•  Ensure Calls to Action are clear and compelling across all content
•  Manage and maintain a library of visual assets for internal and external use

Social Media

•  Engage with other teams to understand take-up of Social and Therapeutic Horticulture

programmes, training courses, information service and fundraising campaigns, acting on this
information to increase take-up as required

•  Create visually impactful posts for Thrive’s social channels, focusing on storytelling and

engagement.
Support the development of longer-form content for platforms like Instagram, Facebook,
LinkedIn, and YouTube.

•  Work with the Comms and Marketing Officer to schedule and publish content, ensuring

alignment with overall strategy.

•  Track engagement metrics and suggest improvements for future content.

Design

•  Design campaign visuals, infographics, and promotional materials using Adobe Creative Suite

and Canva.

•  Ensure all designs are accessible, inclusive and reflect our brand and key messaging at all

times

•  Collaborate with internal teams to create branded templates and resources.

Innovate with new formats and trends to keep Thrive’s digital presence fresh and engaging.

General
•  Provide support to field enquiries via telephone and from the Thrive email inboxes
•  Keep abreast of the latest trends and create responsive content where appropriate to Thrive’s

message and ethos

•  Ensure all content and communications align with Thrive’s brand guidelines, visual identity and

strategic objectives.

•  Provide input to monthly and quarterly reports as necessary

Overview of Terms of Employment & Benefits

Salary (depending on experience): £26,000 - £28,000 for 35hrs (£20,800 to £22,400 for 28hrs)

Line manager: Head of Marketing & Engagement

Contract: 1yr fixed term (with possibility of extension depending on the needs of the organisation)

Location: Based at Thrive, Reading

Working hours: a normal working week is 35hrs, Monday to Friday 9-5pm although flexibility of
working hours is possible within this post. This post will be 28-35hrs per week.

Notice periods: the notice period will be 4 working weeks.

Holidays: annual holiday entitlement is 25 days (pro rata for part-time). In addition to annual holiday
entitlement, you are entitled to all statutory holidays. Part time staff are entitled to statutory and
bank holidays on a pro-rata basis on the same ratio as days worked, or if work is undertaken on
those days you are entitled to time off in lieu.

Sickness absence: Full salary for the first 20 days; half salary for the next 20 days (pro rata for part
time contracts); subsequent absences at nil salary (apart from any SSP entitlement) until return to
work.

Pension: you will be automatically enrolled into Thrive’s contributory pension after 2 months
employment.  Thrive’s contribution to the pension scheme is 4% of gross salary and you will be
required to contribute a minimum of 4%.
