About Us
SATRO is an education and skills charity based in Surrey, working across Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire and South West London.
Our purpose is to raise the aspirations of young people for their future careers and help them develop the skills and confidence to pursue their goals.
One of the ways we do this is through our vocational construction skills programme. Our construction tutors teach construction skills, including carpentry, plumbing and electrics to young people aged 14 to 19 and helping them to learn skills and achieve qualifications which will help them progress to employment.
We do this through our fleet of mobile construction classrooms – vans fully equipped with all the tools and materials needed to deliver our courses in schools across our area of operation.

Teaching sessions last approximately 2 hours and are delivered in the morning and the afternoon throughout the academic year. Sessions will usually be delivered at different schools in the morning and afternoon, and the timetable is organised to minimise travelling time between the two.
