Working hours: 18 hours per week, (Flexible approach - Monday to Friday work pattern with occasional weekend)

Stotfold Salvation Army is seeking to recruit a Community Mission Facilitator to join our staff & volunteer team. The overall aim of this role is to work confidently with people of all ages and backgrounds, building on strong existing relationships while creating new opportunities for intergenerational engagement. The role involves supporting current programmes, helping to grow children’s activities, and developing partnerships with local organisations to serve the community in fresh and meaningful ways. The post also includes practical responsibilities such as preparing rooms to support programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

A highly motivated individual to act as a point of spiritual contact at the Corps, meeting the needs of the Corps / local community and showing them the love of Jesus. To provide ongoing pastoral and spiritual support to members of the community and volunteers. To identify pastoral/practical needs and provide appropriate care and support. You facilitate the Corps' spiritual programme, which includes working with people of varied backgrounds and generations, seeking to build on the existing strong bonds and create new opportunities for intergenerational activities. In consultation with the Corps leadership team and DHQ, the post holder will undertake other duties as required for the effective running of the Corps.

The Successful Candidate:

You will have experience working with people and a keen interest in supporting our community and building relationships with the people who attend our programmes, as well as with colleagues and volunteers.

This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
