Overview

An opportunity has arisen to join the Communications team to support the delivery of major campaigns and strategic projects during a significant period of activity aligned with the museum’s 2029 Transformation plan.

This role will provide coordination and operational support across PR, marketing and digital activity. Working closely with colleagues across the Communications team and the wider museum, the postholder will support the delivery of projects, ensuring they are well organised, clearly documented and effectively communicated across teams and stakeholders.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Head of Audiences, the Communications Coordinator (projects) will provide cross-team coordination, project administration and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of communications campaigns for a range of major projects and initiatives.

Working closely with PR, marketing and digital leads, you will act as a central coordination point for projects, ensuring relevant information is shared and progress against deadlines is monitored and communicated.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of communications campaigns for a range of projects.
  • Maintaining project timelines, action trackers and key documentation.
  • Acting as a central coordination point, ensuring information is shared across PR, marketing and digital leads.
  • Supporting the administration of the departmental budget, including processing of invoices and maintaining accurate budget trackers.
  • Assisting with preparing reports on campaign performance, audience metrics and spend, and supporting the development of presentations and internal updates.

About you

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
  • Good numeracy, literacy, and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in a range of commonly used office software, notably MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A problem-solving and audience-focused approach

Terms and Conditions

Salary: £27,600 per annum, dependent on experience

Contract: fixed term, 12 months

Holidays: 25 days [pro rata] + Christmas Eve (museum closed)

Hours: 35 hours / 5 days per week

Location: the Design Museum Kensington is the place of work - with a hybrid arrangement of 60% of an employee’s role to be performed at the museum and 40% remote.
