Cleaning Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Business Manager, Cleaning Manager and Cleaning Supervisor
To assist in the cleaning service of the school and associated areas.
| General Duties |
| To assist in the daily cleaning of the allocated departments of the school buildings |
| Duties to include: |
| Hoovering / mopping of floor areas |
| Cleaning of classrooms/tables/chairs |
| Cleaning of corridor /stair areas |
| Removal of refuse to correct bin areas |
| Cleaning /sanitise toilet & bathroom areas |
| Store all items in a tidy manner in correct areas in storerooms |
| Cleaning of sections according to area schedule |
| Complete deep clean of sections (Easter / Summer) |
| Carry out associated duties as reasonably requested by Cleaning Manager / Supervisor |
| To uphold a commitment to health and safety |
| Health & Safety |
| Safe use of cleaning products according to COSHH regulations |
| Safe use of PPE where required |
| Use of motor driven equipment (floor machines) only after training provided |
| Report to your manager any instances of vomiting or diarrhoea |
| Effective cleaning methods to be followed |
| Other Duties / staff conduct |
| To support school functions out of standard working hours wherever possible i.e. Dinners/school events / weekend sport/ nursery holiday cover |
| To support other work departments if short staffed (temporary) |
| Inventry system to be used when arriving and leaving from work |
| Staff lanyards to be worn at all times |
| All conversations with staff colleagues to be held in a polite respectful tone |
| Any disagreements / il feeling with other staff members to be dealt with promptly , either informally or via the school grievance procedure-negative atmospheres are not welcomeand should be dealt with before they escalate |
| Maintain confidentiality regarding school workplace matters |
