Last year Pennine Domestic Abuse Partnership (PDAP) provided support to 1662 victims across Kirklees and believes
that everyone has a right to a life free from fear and abuse. Do you want to take on a role in an organisation that places
the victim’s voice at the centre of their work and offers safe, effective and high quality support to all those suffering
domestic abuse? This charity is inclusive and responsive and is looking for a domestic abuse practitioner to join the
team to contribute to supporting clients to rebuild their lives.

Key aspects of the role

1.  To ensure the effective management and organisation of PDAP safe accommodation provision
2.  To  maintain  a  high-quality  service  that  meets  the  needs  of  women  and  children  affected  by  domestic  abuse

throughout all levels of risk

3.  To  provide  line  management,  supervision  and  annual  appraisals  to  PDAP  frontline  staff  and  ensure  they  are

adequately managed on a day to day basis

4.  To be responsible for accommodation contract compliance and be the key person for partnership purposes with

housing providers and contract duties with housing providers of PDAP buildings

5.  To lead on the implementation and compliance of accreditation framework processes within accommodation
6.  To work with PDAP Head of Operations and PDAP Senior Leadership Team to contribute to PDAP Strategic Business

Planning

7.  To educate and inform the public and other professionals, raising awareness and understanding of domestic abuse
8.  To be responsible for the management of accommodation services alongside PDAP SLT

9.  To ensure PDAP Values are central to all delivery of services
10. To have strong professional boundaries and maintain confidentiality

Project Management and Service Delivery

1.  To assist the SLT to develop and implement policies and procedures relating to accommodation service and

ensure such policies and procedures are in line with current legislation

2.  Ensure quality standard and accreditation requirements and guidelines are fully adhered too, practiced and

delivered throughout service management and delivery

3.  Work with the Head of Services to monitor and evaluate all aspects of PDAP accommodation service and

produce accurate informative papers as and when required, including implementation of development plans

4.  To assist business support to produce accurate data reports for PDAP Trustee Board, Local Authority

Commissioners, funding bodies and stakeholders which represent the excellence of service delivery when
requested

5.  To ensure that PDAP accommodation services provide a safe and secure environment for women and children

escaping domestic abuse in compliance with management agreements and housing legislation

6.  To ensure all service agreements and license agreements are developed and implemented in consultation with

relevant bodies

7.  To ensure equality is embedded across all aspects of employment and service delivery
8.  To ensure PDAP Accommodation services are delivered and adequately resourced in line with the DA Act and the

LA Statutory Duty requirements

9.  To identify gaps for the provision of accommodation services in line with LA Statutory Duty under the DA Act and

influence development to meet these gaps in consultation with Head of Operations, LA and DA Strategic
Partnership Board

10. To participate positively in supervision and appraisal, learning and development planning with Line Manager

Staff Management

1.  To participate in the recruitment, selection, and deployment of PDAP accommodation staff, volunteers and

student placements and ensure equality is integral to this process

2.  To provide regular supervision and appraisal to frontline staff
3.  To support the implementation of Induction, development, on-going training and development opportunities to

staff

4.  To ensure PDAP accommodation staff are empowered to develop their skills and knowledge whilst being

managed with a fair and consistent approach

5.  To participate in and take lead where required, in the strategic planning, development and delivery of future

accommodation services

6.  To assist in the implementation of Capability or Disciplinary Procedure when required
7.  To operate as Safeguarding Lead for Accommodation services
8.  To create and lead on performance management of staff where required

Operational responsibilities

1.  To participate in, initiate and influence the organisation’s policy making and its implementation
2.  To ensure that the views of service users, those with lived experience of domestic abuse and stakeholders are at
the core of the work PDAP carries out and to take full account of these in the development of new services

3.  Promote and foster good working relationships between all PDAP staffing teams
4.  Take part in back up on call management rota

Internal and External Liaison and communication
1.  To promote PDAP ethos and values across the organisation
2.  To liaise with other agencies on behalf of PDAP and represent the wider complexities of those experiencing

domestic abuse

3.  To represent PDAP at a strategic level including attendance and chairing meetings, attending advisory groups

with a view to influencing how stakeholders deal with domestic abuse

4.  To develop and maintain good positive working relationships and referral pathways with relevant agencies and

professionals in relation domestic abuse services at a strategic level

5.  To attend and participate positively in relevant meetings, training, supervision and annual appraisal
6.  To liaise with universities and external tutors with relation to student placements.

Finance & Administration

1.  To ensure the adherence to agreed budgets related to accommodation service
2.  To assist Finance Director with setting annual budgets relating to accommodation service
3.  To be responsible for the effective operation of accommodation services, ensuring that all resources, assets and

monies are always properly accounted for

Flexible working hours according to the needs of the project.  Evening and weekend work as required.  Annual leave
and time off in lieu to be taken at times to meet the requirements of the organisation, and with the prior agreement
of the Accommodation Manager.

Experience in a management role with responsibility for
