The Role

Working at Inclusion Education offers a genuinely supportive and rewarding experience. Our unique working environment places empathy, wellbeing, and impact at the heart of everything we do. If you’ve ever felt that mainstream education doesn’t give you the space to truly support young learners, you’ll find a home here. With smaller class sizes, a trauma-informed culture, and a holistic approach to learning, our team is empowered to make a real difference in the lives of young people with mental health and additional needs. We invest in our staff through accredited CPD, mental health resources, and a deep commitment to work-life balance. It’s a setting where educators are trusted, supported, and given the space to do their best work. This post is suited to those with both primary or secondary school teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to the needs of SEND learners, following the planned scheme of work and subject lead guidance.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet a wide range of learner needs, using ‘The Inclusion Way’ pedagogy and scaffolding strategies.
  • Assess, monitor, and report learner progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and tracking attainment against academic and EHCP targets.
  • Build positive, nurturing relationships with learners to support their social, emotional, and academic development using the PACE approach.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes independence and high expectations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for learners.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress, attendance, and achievements, including Boxall profiles and registers.
  • Support whole-school priorities such as reading, cultural capital, and mental health initiatives.
  • Participate in CPD to stay current with best practices in SEND and subject-specific teaching.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including cover lessons, school trips, and cross-curricular support as needed.
  • Acting as, or supporting, Form Tutors, including completing associated responsibilities, such as at least fortnightly communications with parents/carers and completion of Boxall profiles half termly
  • To carry out any additional roles deemed appropriate by the Headteacher
  • Embody the Teacher’s Standards
  • Supporting other subjects within the school, where applicable, including acting as part of the school Engagement Team.

Inclusion Education recognises and values the enriching contribution which people from a range of backgrounds and experiences can bring to the life and development of the Organisation. We therefore aim to provide a service which, in its teaching, administration and support services, actively promotes equality of opportunity and freedom from discrimination on grounds of age, cultural background, disability, ethnicity, gender, religion or sexual orientation.

All employees have a responsibility to promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment, by taking reasonable care of their own health and safety at work and the well-being of colleagues and students.
