Job Summary

At IWM, we are committed to delivering inspiring, accessible, and story-led exhibitions that challenge expectations and connect with our audiences. As Exhibitions and Interpretation Officer, you will play a key role in shaping creative programming and developing people-focused interpretation across our exhibitions displays, primarily at our London site.

What You'll Do

  • Lead small to medium-sized exhibition and interpretation projects, from concept to delivery
  • Develop engaging, visitor-centred interpretation plans and content in collaboration with curators and managers.
  • Manage updates and maintenance of permanent galleries, including the award-winning First World War galleries.
  • Support major exhibitions and provide administrative and project support across the exhibitions team.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and collections teams.
  • Occasionally travel to other IWM sites to support installations and de-installations.

Who We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone with a passion for storytelling and a strong foundation in exhibition development. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • A qualification (NVQ4 or equivalent) or relevant experience in exhibitions, interpretation, or a related field.
  • Strong creative flair and design sensibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.
