About the role

Reporting in to the Head of Finance, the Financial Planning & Analysis Lead oversees global budgeting, forecasting processes, financial modelling, and business partnering fostering cross-functional consensus with key stakeholders that informs high impact strategic leadership decision making.

The post-holder will drive initiatives to maximise impact and empower the FP&A team and Payroll function ensuring payroll operations globally align with compliance standards and organisational values and goals.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Financial Planning & Analysis Lead will be:

  • Lead the global FP&A function ensuring financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting that aligns with organisational strategy, values and goals.
  • Oversee monthly Business Performance Management (BPM) delivering high-impact financial insights and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Manage the FP&A team providing leadership to create a culture of continuous learning and empowerment to maximise impact.
  • Develop financial modelling to drive scenario analysis to support strategic impactful decision-making.
  • Champion continuous improvement in processes and reporting capabilities fostering a team mindset.
  • Promote the exchange of ideas and insights to Fundraising, Supporter Engagement, People teams, and key projects that fosters cross-functional consensus.
  • Collaborate with matrixed finance managers across multi-country clusters to ensure integration of financial data to allow impactful decision making.
  • Collaborate closely with the Financial Controller for smooth year-end processes that meet organisational values and goals.
  • Champion adaptive and office systems and create a culture of continuous learning for effective use of budgeting and reporting across the organisation.
  • Support grant management through donor reporting compliance while maintaining financial sustainability.
  • Advise senior leadership providing insights into financial risks and opportunities affecting organisational strategy.
  • Oversee global payroll operations ensuring compliance with regulations and organisational values and goals.

About you

Who we are looking for

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A leadership within complex organisations.
  • Advanced understanding of advanced financial analysis, modelling techniques, and reporting standards.
  • Experience in collaborating with senior leadership teams to deliver strategic insights that drive impactful decisions.
  • Experience managing multi-country financial operations; NGO or grant-funded organisation experience preferred but not essential.
  • Advanced financial modelling capability and understanding.
  • Highly developed leadership & people management.
  • Highly developed thinking & problem-solving knowledge and skills.
  • Developed knowledge of payroll oversight & compliance.
  • Highly developed communication skills to explain technical information to a range of audiences.

Desirable:

  • CCAB qualification (e.g., ACCA or CIMA).
  • Training in financial modelling or ERP systems.
  • NGO or grant-funded organisation experience.
  • Familiarity with global payroll functions.
