Part-Time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

Hello, I'm a 15years old boy from Penarth and I love Disney Cars, watching Formula1, scooting, cycling, swimming, going on holiday, legoland and many theme park rides! I have Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I am part verbal and I use my talker to communicate. I understand everything you say.

I enjoy a walking group and spending time with my family at the beach. I love all things rainbow and can colour in a Disney Cars Pic like no one else. I love my brother and my mum and I have a close family who I love too. I'm a cheeky chappy and when I get to know you, I like to have a joke and a laugh!

PURPOSE OF JOB

 

I enjoy getting out and about and doing some activities with someone fun. I see my twin brother doing these things and I want to do the same but know that I need help to do this. All activities to be discussed but I like to try most things.

Sometimes, I'm happy to be supported at home so that I can learn how to make my favourite meals and relax by colouring. Other times, I may need to be supported at home if I've had a challenging day and need to self-regulate.

HOURS OF WORK

 

4 weekday hours, usually spread over 2days. (2hours per day)

RATE OF PAY

 

£15 per hour

Mileage available at 40p per mile

TASKS INVOLVED

  • Taking me to different activities/supermarket
  • Community based activities such as swimming/surfing/cycling/scooting/walking/paddleboarding/ cinema
  • Keeping me safe and informed while we're in the community
  • Using my talkpad with me
  • Some meals and preparation
  • Possible toiletting support/personal care
  • Possible support to self-regulate

  • Experience of working with KS3/4 pupils, teens with ASD

  • Car driver/Access to a car to transport employer.

ABOUT THE JOB

This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.

All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.

Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
