About the role
Catering Apprentice
We're looking for a Catering Apprentice (Commis Chef) to join our kitchen team at Blenheim. In this role, you'll help deliver our culinary offer by preparing, cooking and finishing a range of food items, rotating around each section of the kitchen as you build your skills. Reporting to the Head Chef you'll work closely with the wider kitchen team to maintain food quality, safety and hygiene standards. It's a great opportunity to develop your craft and grow within a professional kitchen environment at the Estate.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who can bring the right skills and mindset to the role. You might not meet all the criteria, and that's okay, transferable skills and experience are highly valued.
- Level 1 Food Safety Award (desirable)
- Relevant experience
- Awareness of manual handling techniques
- Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
- Experience of kitchen equipment, such as knives
- Enthusiastic about self-development
- Punctual and reliable
- Strong communication skills
- Dedication to learning
- Attention to detail
- Remains calm in pressured situations
