Campaign Support Worker vacancy - North East

Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) is the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity.

The aim of the organisation is to combat racism through delivering anti-racism education.

We are seeking to recruit a Campaign Support Worker to join our Team – based at our Head Office in North Shields.

This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) and is for a fixed term for a period of up to 12 months, with a view to making the contract permanent if funding can be secured. We may consider candidates wanting to work part-time – 28 hrs per week. 

We offer a flexible working hours policy and some remote/hybrid working.

NJC Pay Scale 4 – Points 7 – 11: £27,274 – £29,071 (pro rata)

Primarily, the role involves general office administration, providing effective administrative support and maintaining official SRtRC social media accounts. The postholder will also be expected to provide event support for the Campaign Team, attending events as and when required and organising interventions at Trade Union Conferences.

The role will also include responsibility for stock management, incoming and outgoing post, answering telephones/emails and preparing goods for dispatch. Management, development and upkeep of shared databases, and assisting with the speedy dispatch of information, correspondence, orders and materials.

You will need to demonstrate:

• Good oral and written communication skills
• A high level of motivation, ability to work with minimum supervision but still capable of working as an effective team member
• Ability to use contemporary ICT including social media accounts
• Good organisational skills
• Proven knowledge of administrative tasks in a similar role
• Proven knowledge of working in a busy office
• Proven knowledge of database management
• Commitment to anti-racism
