​HARP is Southend-on-Sea’s leading homelessness charity and every year we work with around 1,000 local people to help them overcome or avoid homelessness.​

It is an exciting time to be joining HARP. The organisation has undergone significant change and growth over the past twelve months and we have ambitious plans for the future which will continue to transform lives.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and innovative worker to join a new team for our exciting Crowstone Project.

Main responsibilities include: 

  • Build trusting, trauma-informed relationships with residents to support their recovery journey and promote personal empowerment.
  • Deliver structured key-working sessions and co-produce support plans that reflect residents’ goals, strengths, and needs.
  • Facilitate therapeutic and meaningful group activities that foster connection, resilience, and life skills.
  • Provide practical guidance on harm reduction, emotional regulation, and healthy coping strategies.
  • Support residents in attending health appointments, multi-disciplinary meetings, and engaging in daily routines.
  • Conduct regular health and safety checks across the property, ensuring accurate reporting and a safe living environment.
  • Maintain clear, up-to-date records and case files using internal systems to support continuity of support package.
  • Promote tenancy sustainment and assist residents in preparing for independent living through skill-building and goal setting.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and internal teams to ensure holistic, wraparound support.
  • Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection standards in all aspects of work.
  • Participate in evening, weekend, and bank holiday cover as part of a shared rota.
