The Vacancy

Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a faith-based humanitarian relief and development organisation working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. Established in 1984, with an active presence in over 45 countries, we strive to make the world a better and fairer place for those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disasters.

IRW’s Global Family Development Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Head of Global Editorial and Creative Content’, open only to existing Islamic Relief employees in the UK. The role is to be based from it's Birmingham office, UK.

The Head of Global Editorial and Creative Content leads Islamic Relief’s global editorial and creative content function, developing and delivering compelling editorial, design, and multimedia work that drives income, influence, and impact. The role provides strategic direction, ensures brand integrity, and enhances storytelling across global channels to advance fundraising, awareness, and advocacy.

The successful candidate must have:

• Proven experience leading creative teams in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Expertise in developing and delivering editorial, design, and multimedia strategies across multiple platforms.
• Strong copywriting, editing, and storytelling skills for diverse audiences.
• Strategic thinker with a track record in project management and campaign execution.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Strong understanding of digital content performance and analytics.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver results.
• Experience managing budgets and resources effectively.
• A Degree or equivalent in English, media/journalism or a related/relevant subject is essential.
