Software Engineer
Are you passionate about using technology to make a positive impact?
We’re looking for a curious and motivated Software Engineer to help enhance and support our Salesforce platform, driving smarter ways of working across Dogs Trust and helping us make a real difference for dogs everywhere. This is a great opportunity to use your technical skills for purpose — helping us innovate, collaborate, and deliver digital solutions that really matter. You don’t need to tick every box; what matters most is your attitude to learn, grow, and apply your skills creatively. We’re looking for people who pick things up quickly, communicate openly, and enjoy solving problems together, helping us find smarter, more effective ways to support our mission.
About the role
As Software Engineer, you’ll:
- design and develop Salesforce solutions to meet business requirements, in an environment where flows and third-party tools are widely used,
- customise Salesforce solutions to meet the needs of the organisation,
- work across other platforms to develop solutions and resolve incidents,
- proactively collaborate with teams across the organisation to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and have the capacity to support as many dogs as possible,
- communicate clearly and proactively; letting colleagues know if you’re stuck, sharing progress, and engaging others to help overcome challenges, even when it’s bad news.
About you:
Could this be you?
You’ll bring a strong problem-solving mindset and a genuine enthusiasm for learning and improving. You understand that experience alone isn’t enough; it’s about how you use it to design better solutions and help others succeed. If you’re proud of what you’ve achieved in past projects, enjoy collaboration, and share our passion for helping dogs, we’d love to hear from you.
About the team
You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive IT team that values curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. We work across a variety of exciting initiatives; from developing digital platforms that help dog owners to enhancing volunteer and data systems that expand our impact. Our culture is friendly, flexible, and purpose-driven, with most of your time spent working from home and regular, focused collaboration days in our London office. It’s an environment where people share ideas, learn from each other, and take pride in building technology that truly makes a difference.

About Dogs Trust
We love dogs. That’s why we do whatever we can to make sure every four-legged friend gets the love they deserve. We’ll never put a healthy dog down, so our work is focused on helping dogs in need, supporting owners every step of the walk, and creating a better world for dogs in the future. It’s what we’ve been doing since 1891 and how we’ve grown to become the UK’s leading dog charity, helping 12,000 loyal friends find their forever homes every year.
