The CoSTAR Network represents the largest investment in Creative Industries Research & Development, delivered by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, with the aim of building the first national R&D infrastructure for the Creative Industries to fuel growth for our creative economy.
The Creative Technology Industry Manager will work closely with the CoSTAR Foresight Lab and BFI teams, to develop a programme of industry engagement that will ultimately help grow and sustain the UK creative technology sector, and demonstrate thought leadership in the area of Creative Technology and inform strategic decision-making within CoSTAR.

Role responsibilities
- Engage with the full breadth of the Creative Technology sector to understand and communicate sector needs
- Work with the CoSTAR Foresight Lab and BFI to formulate plans and develop recommendations to address these needs, covering areas such as Research & Development support, Skills, Policy, Growth & Investment
- Ensuring that the BFI and the CoSTAR Foresight Lab have a programme of events and funded activity designed to meet the needs of the sectors using creative technology
- Contribute to insightful reports that map the future of creative technology in the UK, covering AI, VFX, Immersive/XR, video game engine technologies, creative automation technologies and Virtual Production
- Work with the CoSTAR Policy group and the Policy Forum, to support industry engagement in relation to policy development activities across the Foresight Lab
- Inform the Foresight Lab and BFI on Creative Technology trends, working with other Lab researchers
Person specifications
- Experience delivering creative technology projects within the creative industries, or equivalent, including hands-on experience working directly with Creative Technology.
- Proven experience of carrying out or overseeing formal or informal Research & Development, within the Creative Industries or equivalent.
- Demonstrable understanding of how Creative Technology is used in the production of professional creative work, including AI
- Experience of building relationships with a range of private companies in the Creative Industries, including experience of events or comms
- Applicable knowledge of a range of creative technologies and how they are used in a Creative Industries Production context. Particularly relevant creative technologies include AI, VFX, Immersive/XR, video game engine technologies, creative automation technologies and Virtual Production
